Happy Spring!!

Happy Spring!! Temps are warming up here. We are in the 70's wish it would stay here...but up it goes. We have settled into our new condo which we both love!! The space, quiet neighborhood and all the beautiful citrus outside our house. We have been spending our weekends walking our retro neighborhood, squeezing our own OJ, and basking in the sun. Come visit us!!

Quotes

As of late I've been finding myself reading a few certain blogs in search of inspiration and deep felt meaning. I've always loved a good quote and today I came across these two that hit me right between the eyes. I love coming across words that I identify with and someone who has the talent to express that with which I can't come up with words for.

The World Leaning on Your Shoulders

"You know all their stories but none of their stories know you.And you've felt all their pain but their pain has never bothered feeling you.So you take their medicine. Even though you've had too much medicine."

The Fragile Alliances

"Sometimes I can't work out if you're a friend who wants to talk to me or an enemy who wants to take from me. "

GRACE

In my "surfing the web" i stumbled onto this quote on a blog and thought I'd share...I'm still rolling in over and over in my little brain...

"The best of us are not nearly good enough and the worst of us are not bad enough that His grace can’t reach us."

STRESS

Back on the board again :) I have been majorly stressed out lately. Work has been so slow so I'm board all day long. I hate being board. I rather be busy getting stuff done than sitting at my desk losing more of my brain cells to the Internet every day. But our business is so slow right now. We all were asked to take a 10% pay cut and just yesterday they let go the sales girl. So looks like 10% pay cut and 10 % work increase. I'm so grateful to have a job right now despite today's rocky economy. But the stresses of life, money, and change can really grate on this board mind of mine for 8 hours of the day. My brain is constantly going about maybe we should do this, or school should I go back to school, am I doing enough, what am i not doing? ? on and on...So this mornings reading was this and it really brought some much needed peace to my heart and mind so I'll share....

"Apart from me you can do nothing?" Or, in the same context, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who lives in me and I in him, will produce abundantly, for apart from me you can do nothing" (John 15, passim or 1-8). Clearly, Jesus is not talking about our ability to tie our shoes or operate a computer. He is stressing that the strength we need to better our world, to begin each day with hope and courage, to persevere in the good, all this is made possible by our sharing in His life. Our dependence on Christ does not limit us but allows us to do what our weakness and lethargy would not. If we live in Him we live with His strength."

I forget that there is someone far greater than me who is in control who I can rest in and know I can't do enough, say enough or have the for site to be ahead of the ball on all things...but he does and he holds the favor and me in his hands. Have a great day!

Walk of Peace

I missed Obama's speech this morning and I really wanted to hear it...so I found it on CNN and read the transcript. I have to say I loved his speech today....I do like most of his speeches and the approach he seems to have to politics and world stuff. I in fact am quite the fan and yes voted for him. But I took this from the end of his speech today its quotes from the Bible, Talmud, and Koran. In truth we all do want the same things and desire the same things for our family and community. Blessings to you all and may the walk of peace and love begin with you and let it begin with me.

"The Holy Koran tells us: "O mankind! We have created you male and a female; and we have made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another."

The Talmud tells us: "The whole of the Torah is for the purpose of promoting peace."

The Holy Bible tells us: "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God"
