One of my favorite blogs to read is Don Miller's blog. Not only do I love love love his books but his blog is always right on target for me. He puts into words things I wish I could. So here is his today's blog. I've frequented Pioneer Square when I lived in Portland and was shocked when I heard the attempted bombing there. 5 things I love Friday...

1. Holiday Season!

I love the decorating, eating, getting together with friends, festive activities that include decorating, eating and being with friends :).

2. Smell of Pine

There is nothing like pine tree smell in your house. I miss real trees the desert just doesn't offer that. Reminds me of home and the holidays...trying to reproduce it with candles is all I've got right now.

3. Turkey Stuffing

This is my favorite thanksgiving food...yummy!!!

4. Being pregnant during holiday season!

Wow I can finally really eat!! :)

5. Gift giving

I wish I had tons of money. It's so much fun to buy presents for loved ones and not to mention receiving them too :)

And the baby is...

So we had our big reveal party this last weekend!! We had our big ultrasound the week before and have been waiting for a week for this big day. What are we having??? boy? girl? I've been holding out on shopping, and researching names. So our ultrasound tech put the gender results in a sealed envelope which we gave to our friend Erin who made our cake. Inside the frosting would be blue or pink....We waited all week! And our big night was so fun. We had a group of friends come over to enjoy Nigerian food, music and cake. I over planned a bit and had a lot of food and beer left over :) But better than to run out. It was a fun night and I was exhausted at the end. So we found out we are team pink!! A little girl!!!! I'm still processing it all....I'm still processing that I'm actually pregnant!! :) We are excited for the life growing inside me and this new journey that life is unfolding before us!

Pregnancy and all that fun stuff

18 weeks!! We are well on our way. Survived my 1st trimester wow! No one really told me how fun that would be...yikes! I thought pregnancy was going to be this fun experience where you glow, get fat, and feel a baby inside you. I heard about morning sickness but isn't that just in the morning? Umm no. I was nauseous all day, heartburn all day and extremely tired. The afternoons at my desk were a killer. Not to mention the ever growing dry patch on my face which now is a dry rash the encircles my entire mouth. Yeah fun and looks hot. There better be a light at the end of this tunnel ....hahaha yeah a baby :) Well despite all the body changes and hormones we are thrilled! I got a stack of books from the library that we are reading on a weekly basis to keep up with my body changes and the growth of our little one. I've been gaining weight but my belly hasn't popped out very much yet so we wait and our signs that the baby exists are our visits to the Dr when we get to hear the heartbeat. We had our big anatomy scan Friday and we got the watch our ultrasound for well over an hour. We were just beside ourselves with awe. More like speechless. We had already planned to find out the results of the gender but requested it in a sealed envelope not wanting to know there in the office. We both watched as she looked for the gender but haven't got a clue what we were look at so we don't know despite peeking. So Chris dropped off the envelope to our friend Erin who is making us a cake for this Saturday. We are doing a birthday party for me/sex reveal for the baby. The inside icing of the cake will reveal blue or pink. After sitting there for over an hour watching our little one move it's arms & legs, open and close it's mouth I'm dying to find out....are you a boy or a girl? Momma wants to go shopping!!! :)
